And Malaysia Airlines is playing its role in flying in visitors from the Middle East to the Southeast Asian nation of 27 million people, a veritable melting pot of cultures and traditions with a dash of modernity thrown in.
Its regional general manager for Middle East and Africa, Merina Abu Tahir, told Bernama that Malaysia's national carrier had mounted daily flights for the Dubai-Kuala Lumpur sector since April, using the wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft.
"We also have direct flights from Kuwait to Kuala Lumpur during the summer season," she said, adding that there was good demand from Middle East travellers during this time of the year.
While Malaysia beckons both Middle Easterners and Malaysians living abroad, others may have other plans for the summer.
"I am mulling over the idea of travelling across the UAE with my family. We have been spending most of our time in Dubai. It's about time that we check out the rest of the country," a Dubai-based Malaysian official told Bernama of his travel plans.
